Buffalo to Welcome 2024 IIJL Women's World Junior and World U16/U18 Lacrosse Championships

EAST AURORA, NY — The 2024 IIJL Women's World Junior Lacrosse Championship, IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship and IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship hosted by International Indoor Junior Lacrosse (IIJL), will take place at the Classic Rink August 29 - September 2. This event will feature some of the top lacrosse players from Australia, Canada, Poland, and the United States competing for a gold medal. 

The 2024 IIJL Women's World Junior Lacrosse Championship will feature a four (4) game super series against Australia and Canada with the team finishing with the best Goal Differential taking gold. Additional exhibition games may be scheduled as well.  

“We couldn't be more excited to be back in the Buffalo area with the IIJL Championships” said Chris Fox, president of the Canadian Lacrosse League and International Indoor Junior Lacrosse. “The Classic Rink is a special facility that creates the feel and style Box lacrosse began and was truly intended. The players competing are ready to put on a world class performance as they compete for a gold medal.” 

Day passes, which includes all games, for preliminary round days will be available. An all-session pass, along with multi-day passes will be available to purchase.  All tickets may be purchased at the Rink beginning August 29th.

Our organization has supported lacrosse in our area for years and it is a privilege to be able to have such a great event and organization playing right here in East Aurora", said Scott More, Classic Rink General Manager.” 

The independent association of International Junior Indoor Lacrosse was founded in 2016 by Member Nations Canada (Canadian Lacrosse League) and the United States (US Indoor Lacrosse) and stands as the only dedicated international event offering indoor lacrosse championships for players aged 20 years or younger. Since its inception, the championship has grown in stature, bringing together the finest young lacrosse talent to compete on the world stage.
